This is a totally voluntary arrangement and would work only as long as Democrats are in control of those states. It's political hopium and weak sauce constitutionally. There's nothing to prevent a GOP trifecta state from having an emergency legislative session in mid November and abruptly pulling out of the arrangement if an election goes against them. And we KNOW Republicans would do that.

We need a constitutional amendment where abolition of the electoral college is tied to more popular stuff like age ceilings for all three branches of government and limits on political donations by big businesses and broligarchs.

A Mexico-style 6-year, one term presidency, but with an anti-dynasty clause, is my own hobby horse.

We have a once in a generation opportunity for transformative constitutional change if we do well in 2026 and 2028. We should fight for every legislative seat as well as US House and Senate seats. Dems have neglected legislatures way too long. Legislatures sit at the base of our constitutional pyramid.

Who would not agree? The electoral college has been a hindrance to free and fair elections for decades as rigging just continues. ABOLISH THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!
