BREAKING: Republican “Family Values” Candidate EXPOSED for Child Sex Abuse Crimes
Fort Pierce City Commissioner James Taylor presented himself to voters as a fifth-generation community servant. A family man. A Christian.
On Thursday morning, he was pulled over in a traffic stop and arrested on 24 felony counts tied to the sexual exploitation of a child.
He had been sending explicit content to a minor for months before he ever won his seat.
How It Started
The investigation didn’t begin in Florida.
In August 2024, police in Evanston, Illinois received a report from the mother of a 13-year-old girl. The mother said her daughter — who was 12 years old when the communications began — had been contacted by a man via Snapchat.
According to an arrest report, Taylor and the girl exchanged multiple conversations on Snapchat from June 25, 2024 to August 9, 2024. Over time, those conversations escalated. The suspect allegedly sent multiple nude images to the minor.
Taylor was not yet a commissioner when any of this happened. He won his seat on November 5, 2024 — months after the messages were already sent, and months after a mother in Illinois had already gone to the police.
He was elected anyway. The public didn’t know.
24 Counts. All Felonies.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants early Thursday morning at two locations in Fort Pierce as part of an ongoing investigation into internet crimes against children.
The charges Taylor now faces include:
6 counts of transmission of materials harmful to minors by electronic equipment
6 counts of transfer or display of obscenity to a minor
6 counts of harmful communication to a minor
4 counts of lewd computer solicitation of a child
2 counts of solicitation of transmission of child pornography by electronic device
Every charge is a third-degree felony, carrying up to five years in prison per count. His bond was set at $250,000.
That’s a potential 120 years of prison exposure for a sitting city commissioner.
He Admitted It
A forensic review linked Taylor’s IP address to his home, confirming communication with the child.
When investigators confronted him, he didn’t deny it.
The sheriff said that once they explained the charges to Taylor, he “admitted his role” and was “very remorseful.”
Remorse, in this case, came after the arrest. Not before the messages. Not before the images. Not before a mother in another state had to go to the police because of what a grown man was doing to her daughter on Snapchat.
Investigators are conducting a forensic review of digital devices recovered from Taylor’s residence and from an office where he was employed by a local contractor. The sheriff confirmed this is an ongoing investigation.
His Bio Said He “Dedicated His Life to Serving the Community”
That’s a direct quote from his official Fort Pierce city profile.
Before his election, Taylor served for nearly a decade on the St. Lucie County Planning and Zoning Commission, including as chair in 2021 and 2022. His bio described him as active in various community organizations. Married. Fifth-generation Fort Pierce resident. Dedicated public servant.
The same man was on Snapchat soliciting explicit content from a child.
State Rep. Toby Overdorf did not mince words. He called Taylor a “monster” and urged the governor to immediately suspend him, calling the allegations “beyond sickening” and “a disgusting betrayal that chills the soul.”
Fort Pierce City Commissioner Michael Broderick called it “a tragic day for the families involved” and “a tragic day for the city of Fort Pierce.” He is calling for Taylor to resign immediately. If Taylor refuses, Broderick says he will call on the governor to remove him.
The Bigger Picture
This wasn’t a lapse in judgment. This wasn’t a mistake.
The communications spanned nearly two months — from late June to early August 2024. Repeated contact. Repeated escalation. A pattern of deliberate predatory behavior against a child.
The party that built an entire political brand around protecting children from exploitation — the same party that turned “groomer” into a political slur — just had one of its own elected officials arrested on 24 counts of exploiting a child.
James Taylor didn’t slip up once. He made a sustained, months-long choice to prey on a minor.
He was then elected to public office. Sworn in. Given a seat at the table of local government.
The community of Fort Pierce deserved to know who was on their city commission. They didn’t — because investigators were still building the case. That’s how the system is supposed to work. Illinois police traced the activity to St. Lucie County and contacted local sheriff’s detectives in May, who then corroborated the findings, confirmed Taylor’s identity, and secured sufficient evidence under Florida law before pursuing charges.
The system worked. The arrest happened.
Now it’s time for the consequences.
